About Chocolatte

Chocolatte is a multi-award-winning chocolate factory with a strong foothold in Skåne. With physical stores in Helsingborg and Malmö, they produce and sell handmade chocolates of the absolute highest quality. The brand is synonymous with craftsmanship, luxury and extraordinary flavours - a local hero ready for the national stage.

The Challenge

Although the product was world-class, the digital presence did not reflect the brand's premium level. The previous e-commerce solution suffered from technical limitations and an outdated user experience (UX), resulting in a low conversion rate.

Chocolatte wanted to scale their sales nationally through advertising, but realised it was inefficient to drive paid traffic to a site that wasn't converting. The challenge was twofold: they needed a new platform that could do the products justice, and a strategy to find profitable customers outside the physical stores' catchment area.

The Solution

We carried out a complete digital business overhaul - from code to campaign.

  • New Shopify platform: We designed and developed a customised Shopify store with a mobile-first focus. The goal was to minimise friction at checkout and visually highlight craftsmanship to increase purchase intent.

  • Meta Ads & Creative Strategy: With the new site in place, we launched structured advertising on Facebook and Instagram. We worked on intensive A/B testing of creative material to find the balance between brand building and selling messages.

  • Data-driven Product Focus: By analysing sales data, we identified 'hero products' with the highest margin and repurchase rate, and directed the budget there to maximise profitability.

The Impact

The impact of the new platform combined with targeted advertising was immediate.

The new site increased conversion rates by a whopping 158% compared to the previous year, which meant that every advert paid back significantly more. In the first 90 days of the new strategy, advertising revenue increased by 494%, while ROAS (profitability) improved by 55%.

This case clearly shows that growth is about the whole: when the tech platform and marketing solution are optimised together, the real magic happens.
